If you don’t go you will never know!

Following on from our last blog “I wanna tell you a story”.

I want to take you back to April 2022 when we held one of our popular Altrincham networking events with Steve Upham at Altspace and a young travel agent by the name of Nathan Stubbs turned up for his first ever networking event and above is his first ever introduction.

One thing we say on our networking courses is that if you are not out and about your competition may be and we have had other travel agents at the event, but Nathan was there at the right time and asked the right questions.

Nathan had just started his business and had come to promote his business. We got talking and he asked about other events he could attend. I told him about our lunches as well as The Manchester Business Breakfast Club who had always had a travel agent as a member but at this moment in time the industry was not represented.

Nathan said he would be interested in coming to both events but initially tried the MBBC and joined instantly. Nathan picked up his best client at the group straight away and then started booking holidays for other members and was mentioned regularly to their friends and family.

This gave him the capital to join the Business Network South Manchester and The Business Network Chester where he has arranged holidays for a number of members, their family and friends of both groups and October sees him organising a trip to Turkey for one of the member’s golf club.

It is safe to say that Nathan attended the event in April 2022 thinking he was going to sell to the room but in fact the introduction he picked up has gone far and wide in fact it has gone world wide and during a meeting we had recently he was happy to tell me that by coming to that one event his projected figures were twelve months ahead of schedule.

Of course, it has to be remembered that you have to work hard at making these connections and be good at your job. I am pleased to say that the feedback we get back from members who have been on a holiday with Nathan is excellent and we never have any worries about recommending him.

So the next time you are sat in your office or arrived home and think “Do I really want to go out again” always remember the phrase “If you don’t go you will never know”.
