The new obligation took effect on 26 October 2024 and means that all businesses are legally obligated to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment from both within and outside of your organisation (for example form customers or contractors). The first step in compliance has to be a risk assessment to assess what steps are reasonable and what can be implemented in the business. It is likely that training is the most reasonable step, in fact ACAS detail that training is an important factor to consider. Of course, training can be expensive but that’s where we can help!
